Sarawak expedition

I went to Sarawak for 10 days...

Our first destination is Mulu national park... We spent 6days 5 nights in this beautiful place.
See the 6 girls in the pic??? From the left: Cindy, Cathy, May, Mag, ME and Ee lin

Dont play play, we might look small but we are VERY STRONG!!! By the way, we eat a lot!!! hehe see the amount of food we carry !!!

Our first day start off very nice. The wheather is nice, and we can actually see the river, cloud and river from the plane easily...

Below is a pic of gunung mulu national park... The air in mulu is cooling and refreshing, the land is beautiful, full of green green trees, not to mention the cooling river... aaaaahhhhhhh, everything is SO SO NICE that even the mosquito here are very friendly!!!!! they like my leg very much -.-

I want to stressed that MULU is a nice place. Many malaysian do not know that Mulu national park is a world heritage area... even I also do not know until 2 months ago.

Every year, many many "ang mo" purposely fly here just to visit our rainforest, beautiful caves and limestone formation, unique culture of native people... but we malaysian do not know about it and what we do is we all save money to go for europe trip... very weird right? guess the moon at other place are always brighter and bigger...

We visited many caves. Mulu has the biggest caves in the world and they categorize these caves into show caves and adventure caving.

The show caves are Wind, clearwater, deer and Lang caves. We 6 "sampat" girl somemore ask for trouble and put the adventure caving into our schedule... The Lagang cave and garden of eden which according to Big Mac (our tour guide) is suitable for 5 years old.... what a lier!!!!!
IT IS SO SO SO DIFFICULT...

But then, luckily, the experience turn out to be a nice one la, if not I am going to kill him. haha

Below pic show the entrance of Deer cave. did u see a face???
They say it look like Lincoln Abraham face wor!!!!

Then, the stalagmite and stalactite formation are really unique and special!!! Although my mom say one can see them in batu caves in KL and what for want to purposely fly there to see.. I tell u, is a totally different experience when u actually go into the caves and smell the air and touch the various stones there...

Besides caves, we also conquer the pinnacles!!!!!

The trip to view pinnacles alone take us 3 days 2 nights and it is really very tiring. My whole body musle ache like mad and takes almost 1 week to heal.

To get to the base of the pinnacle (camp 5), we need to take 1/2 hour longboat ride, 8.8km of jungle trekking. Then, although the trail to view the pinnacle although is only 2.4km long, but it is full of sharp, slippery rocks and we really need to climb all the way up.

We spent 5 hour to get to the peak and 6 hour to come down. Imagine the last section of the trail is 75 degree steep!!!! i get so many mosquito bites, bruises and scratches during the journey...
Now think of it is quite dangerous, especially when coming down!!!

After Mulu, we actually went to Miri, Kuching and Sibu...

In Miri, we rent a car and read map to visit around. This is my first time renting a car... I feel very proud to have cathy as our 'driver' and Cindy as our navigator.. They are really very 'geng' people... I just need to sleep only ;-p

Then in Kuching, we stayed in a very cool backpacker hotel. It has a very cute name
*****Singgahsana lodge*****
The place is really nice and the amount we need to pay is also relatively low... The whole guesthouse is decorated in the Balinese style and it also give us a home feeling. Besides, the location of the guest house is in the center of the kuching town and it is very convenient. Furthermore, the people there are really very kind.

Then, we also visited the cultural village in Kuching. THE place is very big and inside we visited many 'model houses' of different tribes of the natives.

This man is actually a orang penan.. see his hairstyle is very unique ;-p

Lastly, we went to SIBU----Cathy's hometown.

WOW the food there is REALLY NICE.
We ate a lot of special foods which cant get in west malaysia.
Cathy's mom is a VERY GOOD COOK. She cook many nice dishes for us...

Too bad we only staying for 1 night, so we have to eat 5 meals a day to eat all the recommended food in the list.. Cathy say there are many more nice nice food... sighhhh so sayang!!!

Anyway, I enjoy this trip very very veyr much... I like Sarawak very much... Hope to go back again next time..... I Really miss the food and people there very much!!!!!!
