Translation

Below is an article taken from Sin Chew Jit Poh.
I will TRY to translate.
This is a very meaningful article.

Views: zhen4 ding1 xian2. Hundreds and thousands of Ahmad (2008-09-04)

2 weeks ago, I received a call from a mother.

Her daugther is teaching in a government school and had been arranged to go for a training programme lately.

During lecture, a lecturer frankly denied non-Malays' citizen right and called them pendatang asing; then, the lecturer pointed the chinese campers and said: " This country belongs to Malays. You all are not qualified to ask for anything."

I will not repeat other insulting and humiliating words here.

When the chinese and indian students heard that, they are furious and very sad; but due to the power that the lecturer hold, they did not argue.

When night falls, the girl cried and call her mother to tell her about the whole story.

When I heard the mother talking about her child's problem, I can feel the rage and angry in her voice. After a short while, she hang up the phone.

Yesterday, Lim Kit Siang reported to the press a letter which send to him from another parent.

His daughter received JPA scholarship. According to the law, She needs to attend a seminar.

The lecturer comes from Biro Tata Negara from the prime minister's department. We all know the reputation and record of this notorious biro.

The parent told me that this particular lecturer said non Malays are not suppose to query Ketuanan Melayu. Non Malays are suppose to thank the Malay for providing citizenship and a place to stay for them.

Besides that, he instructed malay campers not to make friends with non Malay.

The trauma and psychological effect that faced by the non Malay can be understand. Even some Malay camperes were shocked and cried.

These 2 incidents are so similar. I do not know whether it is the same lecturer and whether there are only 2 incidents happened?

I believed that, there will not only be 2 incidents. There will be hundreds and thousands of them.

There are so many aggressive and racist remarks repeatedly comes out in various government offered seminars and various primary, secondary and high school.

How many young soul are hurt? how many brains are being 'poluted'?

UMNO apologized for ONE Ahmad Ismail.

But hundreds and thousands of Ahmad Ismail are still surrounding us, inside our society, buried hatred and detestation among us.

The racist politics and education created many Ahmad, X lecturers and their followers.

Before the country is being destroyed, please stop this. Do not let this kind of condition continues. All we need is forgiveness and ______, not hatred and ________)

( I hope that the mother will e-mail to me more information about the whole process, the name of the X lecturer and organizer, so that I can informed the particular organizer to investigate. We cannot sit down and complain and we must act and make changes.)

Do no harm if no good can be achieved

The essence of medical practice is to do no harm to patients if no good can be achieved. But in Malaysia's political world it seems that when no good can be achieved, DO HARM! CREATE PROBLEM! If they cant get what they want, other people also cant get it.

So with this kind of mentality, we have "pariah" politicians such as Ahmad Ismail who made racist remarks and talk rubbish. Barisan Nasional lost Penang to PKR. This Bukit BEndera UMNO division chief also lost his power. So when he cannot get power, he makes sure our life is difficult also.

At first, things sort of "settle" when he get his punishment. But my blood was boiling again when Sin Chew Jit Poh gets a show cause letter from the home ministry. Then, to make things worst, a reporter was arrested under ISA because she wrote a news article about the racist statement by Ahmad Ismail.

So, Malaysia was again making the headlines around the world. First a sodomised case, then Mongolian lady case, next sending a bunch of MP to Taiwan to avoid 916, (where in the first place the government said 916 is rumors) and now detain some civilian under ISA because we want to protect her...

Hahaha. What a funny joke. Our home minister will be the most humorous and the most creative minister in Malaysia history.

The number games are getting more and more complicated...

In 915, Law Minister Zaid Ibrahim tenders his resignation over the government's use of ISA.

Tomorrow is 916. The date Anwar said over 30 MP will crossover to Pakatan rakyat...

2 more days later comes 918. The date where UMNO supreme council will held meeting to decide the transition issue from Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The only thing which can be confirm is the newspaper will still be covered by more and more political issues in this few months time.

Just want to let these politicians know. If they cannot bring any development to this country, at least do not spoil the remaining harmony in this country...

Trip to Bukit Cahaya

Yesterday I went to Taman Pertanian Malaysia in Shah Alam with my girlfriends.
That place got many names. It is also called Bukit cahaya Seri Alam.

Me, Chin yee,
Ee Lin, Magdalene,
Seng Yeong, Minying

The entrance fee to the agriculture park is RM3.
Bukit Cahaya is one of the forest reserves in Selangor.
The whole park is 817 Hectares---Very big.
It has a 4 season house, a skytrex adventure park, 2 watch tower and various small gardens: animal garden, orchid garden, spice garden, mushroom garden, etc. It is a place good for family and friends outing.

The park also allows tourists to rent mountain bikes. The rental is ok. The first hour is RM5 for a new bike and RM3 for an old bike, then the subsequent hour is RM1. ***Bicycle with a basket in front is old one*** haha.

After choosing our own bike, we started to cycle around the park.
The 1st stop: A paddy field.

Next, the animal park.

No need to go to zoo. They have got many animals here also.

A "ham sap" pony which showed us the penis when we touch it.

A herd of deer. They were busy eating and facing us with their butt. When Seng yeong barks, (Yes, barking!!!), all of them suddenly look back!!!

Climbing the watch tower

Taking pictures was our main activities there besides cycling.
This pic was taken on top of the watch tower.

The danau perikanan which has no fish to be seen. However, we saw a big eagle.

The cultural village which only portray the various Malay Kampung in different state.....

The place is not well maintained. The Sarawak cultural village is very much nicer. At least, the Sarawak cultural village did not forget that there are many other races in Malaysia...

After 4 hours of cycling, we were all very exhausted and tired.
So we decided to 'ciau'.

We did not forget to take picture AGAIN at the entrance.

The "taliban mui" in the pic is minying.

Mag with her banana. haha.

The trip was fun. I realise that cycling is a good exercise to reduce fat surrounding the thigh. wahaha, girls who want to reduce weight can give a try.

"Sensitive Issues" Shhhhhh.....

I am quite disapointed with a few issues which happened in Malaysia recently.

First of all is the forum --- Conversion to Islam --- organized by Bar Council had to stop half way. I always believe that ALL religion in the world is good. The only problem lies in the follower...

So, the protestors claimed religion is a sensitive issue and nobody should held a public discussion on it. What is the logic behind this? By shutting up the mouth of people who have a different view with them do not mean that the problem has been solved. This will only make matter worse. In a civilised world, we do not threatened. Instead we discuss. Discussion makes things clearer, allowed different views to be presented and create a better solution to settle dispute.

Then the demonstration of the UITM student regarding the opening of 10% of the university intake to non-Malay student. Everyone understand that the only way to teach a child to survive is by teaching him/her how to fish and not by giving fish directly. Closing UITM to the bumiputra is not only like feeding fish to the child but also closing the pond at the same time, not letting other people come in to fish. Now they can close a pond, but can they also close the sea and not allow people from other part of the world to fish???

Lastly the PAS youth wing which referred the non-Muslims as orang asing. This statement really hurts. So this means that until now PAS still cannot accept other races in this country? After 51 year we stay together in this country?

Our country will celebrate the 51st anniversary this year. With the Merdeka day within the corner, all politicians must remember how tough is it that our ancestor obtain independence. The politicians should be more responsible in their words and actions. Their easy access to the media and public should not be used as a tool to gain popularity and support.

The non-Malay in this country help to build the nation too. We do not come here to rob or do things against the law. Most of us are good citizen. We treat this country as our home. MALAYSIA IS OUR HOME. Not China or India. When our badminton player Lee Chong Wei play against China player Ling Dan on sunday, we support Lee Chong Wei, we support Malaysia team. We hope that he will bring back a gold medal!!!

One world one vision??? One country may not even have the same vision.....
It is so sad.

Warm uP

My boss asked me 2 days b4 I left the pharmacy shop.
“What had u learnt during this 2 months?”
I told her that mainly some counseling skills and brand of drugs and supplements. Now that when I think back, that was only part of what I gained.

It was a new experience for me working there. I faced real patient everyday. They are not simulated patient found in clinical skill unit in IMU. No scripts were given to these people and no lecturer there to give marks. Besides, there will not be any feed back telling what had been done wrong.

Many people thought it is easy to be a community pharmacist. Some customers thought we are just special sales person who sell drugs…
(Auntie!!!, it is not so easy le!!!)
People who do not know English says English is nothing more than 26 alphabets. Very simple ma!!!. So is it true that English is as easy as ABC???

2 months there make me realize that it is not an easy task to be a pharmacist. Besides, although my boss is good, she is quite strict. So it is sometime very stressful. Anyway, I was excited to have chance to see theory in class come real life. Managing a shop, staffs, ordering stocks, serving customer, counseling skills, hitting sales target, answer phone calls, listening to ‘stories’ from yr staff….haha…

Moreover, I know the importance of punctuality, responsible to mistake that had been done, ways to cooperate with different people (especially staffs), how to face difficult customers and exposed to some skills in running business in a competitive world. I was aware that what we had learned in school was not sufficient to face the society. But when I work, the working culture still shocked me. There are so many invisible rules in the society…

I think I had gained a lot in this 2 months. (Of course not money wise la) But then, now I will not feel so uneasy to tell others that the pay is low and do not feel frustrated that people are enjoying their life going vacation when I was sweeping the floor & tagging the price of the stocks, telling people the difference of Zyrtec and Atarax. This will be the most important warm up activity before I step into my real work life next month.

"Aqua"

In Phuket, there is a place called Bangla road. It is a normal road filled with people and cars in the morning but when night fallen, it transforms and become a heaven for “aqua”.

Frankly speaking, very few “aqua” looks “pretty”. Fake breast, long hair, hoarse voice, thick make-up and sexy short skirt make them look weird.

high class trans-gender (dancer in fantasea)

It was strange looking at them. Someone said their soul is trapped in a wrong body. As they cannot change their soul, so they kept trying to change their body.

Performers in fantasea aqua show

The outsiders think they are pathetic but they seem lived happily in their own world. I understand that it is their right to choose their gender but most of these aqua chose to become a prostitute and pole dancer... This I cant understand.

On my way back I saw 3 ‘aqua’ in KTM. They dress like teenage girl, wearing hair band, lip stick, strong perfume and the way they talk and laugh is so girlish. I observed that a man who sits opposite with a disgusting look on his face…

This is a world where we want to be normal.
“Normal” = the thinking & opinion of majority.
The opinion of the minority = “odd”
There is an unseen circle surround us.
Those who chose to stay in the big circle are considered normal person.
The sound of minority and people who chose to step outside the circle is always labeled as peculiar, abnormal and troublesome.

We change in order to become better.
We change our job when we do not like it.
Change a new organ when the original one spoilt.
These ‘aqua’ are doing the same things.
They are just changing the body when they found out that their body is not suitable.
I felt weird when see them but at the same time think that there is nothing wrong with them.

Very confuse.

M&M

Myanmar had recently suffered from a rare cyclone which caused tens of thousands of people died and many more lost their loves one and properties.

It was extremely shocked to see pictures and videos showing corpses and carcasses floating everywhere and at the same time heard that the ruling military junta restricted international aid to the country, CONTINUE exporting rice to other country when their own people had nothing to eat, concentrate on election rather than helping the cyclone nargis survivors.

Money and power can make one loss their conscience and ready to sacrifice everything... With this kind of government, I do not know where the future of the Myanmar people lies.

So when we compare ourselves to Myanmar, we are lucky. At least god had treated Malaysia well and we do not suffer from major nature disasters. However, we must know how to appreciate it because human can cause larger disaster than the nature.

I feel that Malaysia is not so peaceful since the election in March 8.

Recent news on the Raja Petra Raja Kamarudin being detained by the police, called upon Karpal Singh to be charged under the seditious law, Lingam video clip, Mongolian lady murdered case, rumours of Anwar to become the next Prime minister, UMNO grassroots proposed Abdullah Badawi to consider "succesion plan" and Ketuanan Melayu make me feel uneasy.

As chinese saying, 山雨欲来风满楼 --- When the storms are about to come, there will always be strong wind before it. We are the normal citizen who cannot control and determined the future of Malaysia. The wakil rakyat that are supposed to represent us and the goverment that are suppose to protect us should think before they do something.

Please protect the unity and peacefulness of this country.

Baju kurung

I bought a pair of baju kurung. This is my first time buying the traditional clothes of malay. I like the material of my new clothes and believed that I look nice after wearing it.

OK, please don't be misunderstand. I am not trying to promote the shop and the owner did not pay me for doing this. Maybe you feel curious why I bought baju kurung suddenly.... This is because I plan to wear it for an interview in a government department.

Very weird?

The officer who came to my university told us that we should wear formal clothing for the interview. For female, it is "strongly advised" to wear a baju kurung. At first, i don't see any problem. However, come to think of it, so can we wear a cheong sam or a sari instead?

I did not ask the officer at that time. Do not want to make it an issue. So I just kept quiet. THis is a typical "me". Obedient to the higher authority and kept silent when things are not right. Somehow, I believed that a different voice or opinion from the authority will end up with "bad ending".

In the baju kurung issue, i do not plan to make any comment on the thinking of the officer. Maybe he was just so used to see his female colleague wearing it. So he thought that baju kurung is formal clothes and working lady wear formal clothes. So working lady should wear baju kurung...

I was taught to obey to rules and authority since young. Most of the time I was considered to be a good student and a good citizen. The meaning of "good" here is I am very obedient. For example if they draw a circle and ask me to stay in that circle to become a good people, I will not even go near to the border. I will not dare to step out to get the things that I want.

However, this kind of obedient behaviour kept me safe and well for many many years. Although I do not get things that I wanted the most(scholarship, places in local university); at least I am lucky that there is some other 2nd and 3rd choice for me....

After reading , I realised that my silent and obedient behaviour are things which kept me still after all these years. The typical "me" who always have no opinion, kept quite and do not know when to get "angry" make me the person who I am today. I should not blame others...

Suddenly, I feel like a small kid again. Things that I thought is all right turns out to be not so "ok" in the end. There are many confusion and everything seems to be in grey. Graduation is just another new chapter of life. I begin to feel vagueness and wonder whether I am prepared for all the challenges in future....

A new beginning

Finally finish final exam...
Although still worry for the results, but most of the burden had suddenly dissapear!!!

Don't know how to describe the feeling right now.
It is like climbing up a mountain, after all the hardwork,
I am now only standing in a resting station,
A place to eat some energy bar, drink some water, slowing down the heart beat and prepare to start a new journey.

Looking forward to the new journey!!!
I do not know what are the new scenary I am going to see.
Whether there will be any snake in the bush?
Birds in the sky? colorful insects?
How is the peak going to look like?

This is like a turning point.
Many things will start to change from now.
I will have a new job, new boss, new friends, new colleagues.
Everything is so new.
Feel like the new first year student entering the " university of society "
