"Sensitive Issues" Shhhhhh.....

I am quite disapointed with a few issues which happened in Malaysia recently.

First of all is the forum --- Conversion to Islam --- organized by Bar Council had to stop half way. I always believe that ALL religion in the world is good. The only problem lies in the follower...

So, the protestors claimed religion is a sensitive issue and nobody should held a public discussion on it. What is the logic behind this? By shutting up the mouth of people who have a different view with them do not mean that the problem has been solved. This will only make matter worse. In a civilised world, we do not threatened. Instead we discuss. Discussion makes things clearer, allowed different views to be presented and create a better solution to settle dispute.

Then the demonstration of the UITM student regarding the opening of 10% of the university intake to non-Malay student. Everyone understand that the only way to teach a child to survive is by teaching him/her how to fish and not by giving fish directly. Closing UITM to the bumiputra is not only like feeding fish to the child but also closing the pond at the same time, not letting other people come in to fish. Now they can close a pond, but can they also close the sea and not allow people from other part of the world to fish???

Lastly the PAS youth wing which referred the non-Muslims as orang asing. This statement really hurts. So this means that until now PAS still cannot accept other races in this country? After 51 year we stay together in this country?

Our country will celebrate the 51st anniversary this year. With the Merdeka day within the corner, all politicians must remember how tough is it that our ancestor obtain independence. The politicians should be more responsible in their words and actions. Their easy access to the media and public should not be used as a tool to gain popularity and support.

The non-Malay in this country help to build the nation too. We do not come here to rob or do things against the law. Most of us are good citizen. We treat this country as our home. MALAYSIA IS OUR HOME. Not China or India. When our badminton player Lee Chong Wei play against China player Ling Dan on sunday, we support Lee Chong Wei, we support Malaysia team. We hope that he will bring back a gold medal!!!

One world one vision??? One country may not even have the same vision.....
It is so sad.

Warm uP

My boss asked me 2 days b4 I left the pharmacy shop.
“What had u learnt during this 2 months?”
I told her that mainly some counseling skills and brand of drugs and supplements. Now that when I think back, that was only part of what I gained.

It was a new experience for me working there. I faced real patient everyday. They are not simulated patient found in clinical skill unit in IMU. No scripts were given to these people and no lecturer there to give marks. Besides, there will not be any feed back telling what had been done wrong.

Many people thought it is easy to be a community pharmacist. Some customers thought we are just special sales person who sell drugs…
(Auntie!!!, it is not so easy le!!!)
People who do not know English says English is nothing more than 26 alphabets. Very simple ma!!!. So is it true that English is as easy as ABC???

2 months there make me realize that it is not an easy task to be a pharmacist. Besides, although my boss is good, she is quite strict. So it is sometime very stressful. Anyway, I was excited to have chance to see theory in class come real life. Managing a shop, staffs, ordering stocks, serving customer, counseling skills, hitting sales target, answer phone calls, listening to ‘stories’ from yr staff….haha…

Moreover, I know the importance of punctuality, responsible to mistake that had been done, ways to cooperate with different people (especially staffs), how to face difficult customers and exposed to some skills in running business in a competitive world. I was aware that what we had learned in school was not sufficient to face the society. But when I work, the working culture still shocked me. There are so many invisible rules in the society…

I think I had gained a lot in this 2 months. (Of course not money wise la) But then, now I will not feel so uneasy to tell others that the pay is low and do not feel frustrated that people are enjoying their life going vacation when I was sweeping the floor & tagging the price of the stocks, telling people the difference of Zyrtec and Atarax. This will be the most important warm up activity before I step into my real work life next month.
